All Things Qajaq founder and international Greenland rolling instructor James Manke has travelled around the world instructing at numerous sea kayak symposiums over the past 8 years. James' mission is to share his passion with as many people as possible to help spread the tradition of Greenland kayaking, which is where kayaking originated. Greenland skills are very valuable to modern day sea kayakers and all skills are transferable to modern day kayaking.
Drawn in by his unique teaching style, James' students learn progressional techniques that allow them to continue advancing with rolls even after his clinics. Many of his students have outstanding success! James has taught countless students over the past 8 years and has been recognised as one of leading kayak rolling instructors around the world. A: No, in fact many of James' students are beginners!
A: No, all the techniques you will learn are transferable. James will help those who prefer a Euro blade to perfect the skill.
A: Students will need to bring full immersion gear, their kayak, paddle, PFD, spray deck and their lunch/hydration. You may also consider bringing a mask and nose plugs. To make yourself more comfortable we also suggest bringing a change of clothes, towel, sun protection, bug repellent and a lawn chair.
A: Yes! You must contact us ahead of time for that to be arranged.
A: The clinic will take place rain or shine however we will not paddle in unsafe weather. In the case of a thunderstorm, the schedule will be altered if the radar indicates it will pass through or dissipate. If the weather is too dangerous for the clinic, an alternate day will be arranged.
